The Snow Family - Children of Thomas Snow and Winifred Jordan

As I mentioned in my previous post, Thomas and Winifred Jordan Snow had 7 children, all who are mentioned in their father's will: Sally, Mary, William, Henry, Thomas, Mark and John. I do not know the exact birth order for the children.
I will start with William. I do not have much on him. In Jackson County, Georgia there is a William Snow listed on page 89 of the 1809 Tax Digest. Mark Snow, William's brother is also found in this digest. Could William have moved with his brother Mark from Virginia to Georgia? It is possible, but without further record of William it is hard to know. Other Snows in the digest include a Moses and a Fountain Snow. Fountain is said to be Mark's oldest son and I have no idea who Moses is.
Next, we will look at Thomas Snow, Jr. Thomas served in the Revolutionary War under Capt. Benjamin Rice in the regiment of Col. Charles Lynch. His unit was in the Battle of Guilford Court House. Thomas was discharged on April 24, 1781. Thomas married Rachel Bennett on October 10, 1781 in Bedford County, Virginia. I have no proof of the children of Thomas and Rachel, but I have the following list: Vincent, Frances, Clarissa, Sarah, Thomas, Abner, Jabez, Jehu, Winifred and Samuel.
I know very little on John Snow, another son of Thomas and Winifred. In my notes I have that he died in 1894, but no other information is listed on him in my tree.
Mary Snow has been a bit tricky to research. I know she married a Bennett, but which one?! In my tree, I have Micajah Bennett (1755-1825) as her husband. This Micajah is the brother of Thomas's wife Rachel. He may, however, have been the Micajah Bennett that married Ann Johnson and had the following children: Jeptha Stephen and Jesse Johnson. He may have also been married twice, once to Ann and once to Mary. I need more records and research to know for sure. If Micajah and Mary are correct, the following children are recorded for them: Peter and Sarah Elizabeth. Other possible children for Micajah and Mary are Nancy, Polly, Micajah and William. Again, much more documentation is needed for this family.
Not much is known about Henry Snow. I have in my file that he married Martha Cheek and had 3 children: William, Joel and Mary. Again, no real proof.
Sally Snow is the second daughter of Thomas and Winifred. She married John Adams. John witnessed Thomas Sr's will. I have a partial transcript of John's will that lists the following children: Thomas, William, James, Winnifred Thomas, Polly Dalton, Peggy Leftwich, Sarah Weeks (should be Sinah), Sarah Leftwich, John and Milly. If anyone has a full transcript or copy of this will, I would love to see it!
I saved Mark Snow for last since he is my ancestor. I will type on his family in more detail on my next post.

    1. Hello, Ruth, I tried to email you, but it came back to me as undeliverable. I am excited to know what you found out about Winifred. I will try the e-mail again to see if it was just a computer glitch.

    2. Hi Jen, do you still research the Snow and Jordan families? If so, let's get in touch by email.

  2. You asked in what county in Georgia Mark Snow had dealings with Reuben Bennett. That would be Wilkes County, according to my research.
